On the Street is a collection of images from day-to-day life on the streets of New York City. The New York Times asked me to capture these only-in-New York moments before and after my first official assignment of the day, and like my colleague Bill Cunningham who focused on what people were wearing, I was about town to document the essence of everyday, urban life. I see these images not as fleeting moments, but as living still lifes, suspended in time.
